We’re looking for someone to join our close-knit, highly ambitious team. Successful applicants will help us introduce cutting edge ML\AI to the world of supply chain - a space that is ready for an ML-powered shake up. You’ll have some fun with our tech stack - distributed computations, clouds, kubernetes, as we do our little bit to make the world a better place through less wastage and greater efficiencies. It’s important to note that this is a role for someone looking for high responsibility and a challenge, we’re a young, growing company that may not be everyone’s cup of soup. The role comes with the benefit of being well placed to join us on our mission to all become rich and move to Bahamas (or the ski slopes of Zermatt, if that’s your preference).

The role

We are seeking a junior-level python backend developer with an interest in machine learning. We are a growing team and this is a client-facing role, so strong relationship and communication skills are a must.

​

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Working from home, but located around Sydney is preferred for when the Sydney team gets together.

​

Technologies We Use

• Core Remi AI products provide the foundations for our deployments.

• Kubernetes for distributed computing

• Postgres and MongoDB for data storage

• Flask & Angular for our web technologies.

• Python for Machine Learning, data processing and analysis.

• Remi AI cloud infrastructure based on Azure and AWS.

Required Technical Skills

• A computer science, robotics, maths, statistics, physics or related university degree (graduated Bachelors, MSc, PhD or last year MSc/PhD student)

• Strong knowledge of Python

• Understanding of software designing and engineering principles

• Relational databases

• Designing/using RestAPIs

​

Nice-to-have additional skills

• Docker

• Cloud technologies i.e. AWS / Microsoft / Google Cloud

• noSQL

• Flask

• k8s

• Dev ops experience (CI/CD, terraform, timeseries DBs)

• Basic Machine Learning knowledge and experience with Pandas, numpy, sklearn and other popular ML frameworks

As part of this role, you are expected to work closely with our ML engineers and data scientists and integrate their ideas into highly distributed backend solutions. Prior knowledge of ML is welcomed but not required, as you will be mentored by senior team members in these tasks.

So this position is a great opportunity to significantly progress in software engineering, as well as, gain experience in most advanced technologies.

Remi AI is an A.I Co-Pilot that is changing the supply chains of retailers and manufacturers around the world with our demand forecasting, replenishment, price optimization, and simulation capability. With teams in Sydney and Santa Rosa, Remi AI is built by a fast moving, ragtag team of mathematicians, engineers, data scientists, and A.I enthusiasts.

Job Details

Successful applicant will need to be available business hours, 9-5 AEDT, Mon-Fri. There will be the occasional early meeting or evening meeting depending on which international clients you work with. When COVID-19 struck we moved to working from home, and will continue to do so - but we do get the team together once or twice a month in Sydney. As such, Sydney-based is preferential but not vital.

You are excellently positioned to advance your knowledge and get hands-on experience with state-of-the-art machine learning methods. Great data science comes from collaborative effort, so Remi AI invests and encourages continuous upskilling and cross-training in our team.

Salary:

• AU$81,000 p.a + super

• Options available after 6 months
